The Types of Dog Allergies and Symptoms

Types of allergies in dogs: There are several different types of dog allergies. You should know about these if you have a dog.
Skin Allergies: Skin allergies are the most common type of dog allergic reaction. It's  called allergic dermatitis. There are three main reasons for dog skin allergies such as flea allergy dermatitis, food allergies and environmental allergies. 
Food allergies: It is not common type allergy that you think. Food allergies result in resistance which can range from skin conditions to symptoms. Dogs with food sensitivities may present with a number of symptoms, like vomiting and diarrhea as gastrointestinal signs, and itchiness, poor skin and coat, and chronic ear or foot infections as dermatologic signs.
Acute Allergic Reactions: One of the most worrisome of all types of dog allergies is acute allergies reactions. Your dog may also develop intoxicants or mouth sores in response to allergens. Swelling of the mouth, throat, lips, eyelids or ear can look serious, but rarely, and your veterinarian can treat it with antihistamine.
Symptoms of Allergies in Dogs: The symptoms of dog allergies may vary based on factors. But in general the following symptoms can be signs of an allergic reaction.

  • Itchiness
  • Hives
  • Red, inflamed skin
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Itchy ears
  • Sneezing
  • Chronic ear infection
  • Swelling of the face, ears, lips, eyelids, or ear-flaps
  • Itchy, runny eyes
  • Constant licking

Some of these symptoms may be signs of another problem. But you should be sure about your dogs health. So make an appointment with a veterinarian to get a better life of dog.
